Ashlee Petriuzka

From the lab bench to the courtroom to the stage, I chase every subject that makes me look at the world a little differently — and I'm always looking for the next thing to fall in love with.

About

Hi, I'm Ashlee — a student who never quite settled on just one passion. Whether I'm running an experiment, building a case for a mock trial, or stepping into a character on stage, I love the process of figuring things out and bringing ideas to life.

Outside the classroom, I volunteer, I fence, and I'm fluent in Polish. I believe the best way to grow is to keep saying yes to new challenges — even when they don't obviously connect to each other.

Creative Performance

Founded Chemispheres, an online chemistry education platform, in 2025, alongside serving as a dedicated laboratory volunteer at Fort Hamilton High School.

Served as researcher and lead lawyer for the Moot Court Law Team, presenting structured arguments and analyzing complex case law under pressure.

Performed lead roles in major high school theatrical productions and undertook weekly professional acting training to hone public speaking and presence.

Science

My interest in chemistry started as curiosity about why things react the way they do, and grew into a drive to make that curiosity accessible to other students. Founding Chemispheres let me turn what I was learning in the lab into something other students could use to strengthen their own understanding.

  • Founder, Chemispheres (2025–present) — Built and continue to develop an online chemistry education platform to help students master difficult topics through clear, accessible resources

  • Laboratory Volunteer, Science Department, Fort Hamilton High School (2024–2025) — Volunteered daily throughout sophomore year, assisting with lab setup and classroom science activities

  • Participant, Summer's Justice for All Program (2025) — Took part in a summer program combining hands-on learning with community-oriented projects

Law & Advocacy

The courtroom gave me a different kind of laboratory: instead of testing chemical reactions, I test arguments — stress-testing them against evidence, precedent, and a skeptical opponent. On the Moot Court Law Team, I learned that a strong case isn't the loudest one, but the one built most carefully.

  • Lawyer, Moot Court Law Team (2025) — Argued cases in a competitive courtroom simulation, developing persuasive speaking and quick analytical thinking

  • Researcher, Moot Court Law Team (2024) — Researched case materials and precedent to support team strategy and argument-building

  • Witness, Mock Trial (2026) — Delivered testimony under direct and cross-examination in a simulated trial setting

Athletics

Fencing has taught me to stay composed under pressure and think several moves ahead — the same discipline that carries over into a courtroom argument or a lab experiment. It's where I first learned that precision and patience matter as much as instinct.

  • Fencer — Competitive fencer, training in strategy, focus, and split-second decision-making
